Magnolia Car Show

2008 Magnolia Car Show

In 2008 Eric Berge, owner of Werner's Crash Shop worked with the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce to bring back a much loved annual event after a prolonged absence. The 2008 Magnolia Car Show brought together classic cars and modern hot rods. The Messerschmitt was used on the car show poster and headlined the show.

The cars lined West McGraw Street in Magnolia Village August 23rd starting at 9am. Participants were charged $20 to cover the cost of the event and received a free t-shirt. Admission to the event was free and the event was well attended. Talk about next year's event began before the end of the show.

2009 Magnolia Village Car Show

August 22nd Eric Berge, owner of Werner's Crash Show sponsored the Magnolia Village Car Show in association with the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce. It was the second year Werner's Crash Shop sponsered the event during SummerFest. With about 80 vehicles from classics to hot rods it was a celebration of  the car hobby, a day to meet your neigbhors and show off your four wheel infatuation.

This car show in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood has become a favorite of local residents, gearhead and non-gearhead alike. While no cars were turned away from this event葉here was no GoodGuys-style pre-1972 rule here葉here certainly wasn't any junk on display. Along with a '60s-era Ferrari 250 GT, there were a couple of classic Rolls-Royces, a '30s Dodge truck sporting a new Viper motor, and plenty of sweet custom jobs.

2010 Magnolia Village Car Show

August 21st car enthusiasts flocked to Magnolia Village to view over seventy vintage and collector cars at the 2010 Magnolia Village Car Show sponsored by Werner's Crash Shop and the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce. This year's show was a labor of love by Werner's Owner/Manager Eric Berge. A car enthusiast himself, Eric showed off his 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury known as The Purple Project and his T-Bucket.

Eric was joined this year by fellow car enthusiasts Tom Fraser, (an old family friend) with his 1929 Model A Ford. Paul Bergstrom was there with his collection of Chevrolets a 1972 Nova and the 1986 Camaro driven in the Silver State Classic in 2003 at an average speed of 173.504 mph. Todd Paulsen was there with his 1957 Chevrolet Corvette. Mike Soldano came with his 1930 Model A Ford. In all there were over seventy car enthusiasts who came together to show off their projects and catch up with friends. The one day event was held down the middle of McGraw Street between 32nd and 34th Avenues.

This year's Magnolia Village Car Show raised about $1,400 in donations for Northwest Harvest.

"We opened the car show up to anyone who wanted to display their car," Eric said. "We weren't looking for muscle cars or classic autos from the 1930s. It was a chance to meet your neighbors and find out what kinds of cars they are into. As one neighbor put it, it was a chance to let the cars out and breathe a little bit."

Eric, who grew up on 34th in Magnolia, knows many of his neighbors are passionate about their cars. This is the third year Eric has organized this yearly attraction. He is already working on next year's show and plans to get Werner Kozber to display his vintage Mercedes Benz or Messerschmitt models.
